This game was developed for a game jam based on the theme “A World Without.” The goal was to explore how the absence of a key concept would impact society. I chose to focus on a world without truth, a reflection of the growing issue of misinformation in today’s digital landscape. In our modern world, the media often blurs fact and fiction, making it harder for people to know what to believe.

To explore this idea, I designed a fictional world that lets players take a step back from reality and examine the concept in a more abstract way. The game challenges players to question what they see and hear, echoing how difficult it can be to separate truth from lies in real life. It also touches on issues of trust, control, and the influence of authority in shaping what people accept as truth.

Although originally developed for the game jam, this project has continued to grow and has become what is now Where Stars Fade.
